This is Bearlie; she belongs to my friend Debbie. Bearlie was the runt of the litter and she barely survived. She would have died had she not been lovingly hand fed for the first weeks of her life. She is now a happy, healthy 12 year old cat. This painting was created using a favourite photo of Bearlie as a reference. How could I resist?
It is extrememly gratifying work, painting people's pets, both for me and the recipient. I observe the love and devotion between pet and pet owner and try to convey that through my painting. Then the owner has a meaningful, lasting remembrance of their pet.
